Belarusian parliamentary delegation visits Tehran

 On June 11-12, 2019 the delegation of Belarusian parliamentary working group on cooperation with Iran headed by delegate of the House of Representatives of Belarus Peter Solovyev visited Tehran.

During the visit a protocol meeting with the Chairman of the Islamic Council Assembly Ali Larijani was held. The Chairman of the Iranian Parliament expressed satisfaction with the existing level of contacts in the sphere of parliamentary cooperation, and also confirmed the interest of the Iranian side in the further development of bilateral relations with the Republic of Belarus, especially in terms of increasing mutual trade.

Promising areas and current issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed in course of the meeting with members of the parliamentary friendship group led by Ramezan-Ali Sobhanifar. The parties inspected the capacity and potential of the Belarusian-Iranian cooperation in such areas as organization of the agricultural products supply, mutual recognition of documents on education and training, cooperation in the industrial, scientific, technical and humanitarian fields.

Peter Soloviev thanked Iranian colleagues from the Islamic Council Assembly for facilitating the visit of the Belarusian delegation to Tehran and expressed confidence that all existing obstacles to the full development of bilateral interaction would be eliminated as soon as possible.

Ramezan-Ali Sobhanifar, in turn, confirmed his intention to continue the course towards expanding cooperation with the Republic of Belarus both in parliamentary and other key areas.
