Meeting of the Belarusian Ambassador in the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation

On April 18, 2019 H.E. Mr. Yury Lazarchik, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus in the Islamic Republic of Iran, held a meeting with Mr. Mohsen Rahim Mehralizadeh, president of the International Zurkhaneh Sports and Koshti Pahlavani Federation.
During the meeting the Parties discussed the prospects of cooperation with the Belarusian public association of traditional wrestling as well as the opportunity to organize show competitions on zurkhaneh and koshti pahlavani within the scope of the cultural program of the 2nd European games in Minsk on June 19-30, 2019.
Mr. Mehralizadeh highly rated the level of Belarusian sportsmen in traditional wrestling and expressed hope for further fruitful and friendly cooperation between Belarusian and Iranian sports federations whose stage was set off by Alexander Medved in 1962.
In his turn, H.E. Mr. Yury Lazarchik expressed confidence that in case of operative solution of organizational issues, show competitions on zurkhaneh during the 2nd European games will promote the interest of Belarusian youth in traditional wrestling as well as to the strengthening of bilateral relations in physical culture and sports in general.
